Mini Strength Classes

What is in this collection?

 Compliment asana, improve joint stability, and strengthen your muscles with external load (using whatever weights or weighted objects you have around your home).

Strength training helps maintain bone density, reduces cognitive decline, and correlates with longevity. The research is pretty darn clear -- humans live longer, healthier lives when they regularly lift (somewhat) heavy objects, safely.

Props you'll want:
- 5-12 pound weights if you have them
If you don't have weights:
- Sturdy bags or backpacks filled with heavy books
- Other household objects with some heft to them such as laundry detergent jug, gallon of water (make sure to place it down on the floor softly!), etc.

Our movement science AND yoga-informed practices combine strength, functional movements, and mindfulness. These *challenging* On Demand classes serve as a diversified, yoga-based cross-training for whatever other movement or yoga asana practices you love. We aim to keep accessibility and real bodies at the forefront of our teachings.

Ariele is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, who has taught yoga since 2001.

Ariele Foster, DPT

Ariele is a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy, who started teaching yoga in 2001 and hasn't stopped yet. 

In addition to her thriving clinical practice, Ariele is the founder of (and primary writer for) Yoga Anatomy Academy, and has written articles and led online courses for Yoga Journal (gracing the cover of Yoga Journal Australia in 2018!).
