This is a 30 minute strength training class to introduce the series "Progressive Strength Training for Chaturanga & Pushups", that will be followed by approximately 15 minutes of Q+A about strengthening for yoga and about the upcoming series.
PLEASE NOTE, this is not a yoga class.
This is a resistance training class designed to compliment a yoga asana practice.
Class uses dumbbells and / or resistance bands and will target upper body and abdominal muscles involved in push ups or the yoga push up, chaturanga dandasana.
We encourage you to have the following on hand for class:
* Various sets of dumbbells or adjustable dumbbells*
* Various densities of Resistance bands
Optional: Bolster or weight bench or full length foam roller
*If you take this class in a public or shared gym, make sure you have Zoom downloaded on your device beforehand, and please wear headphones 😁

You are welcome to join, and please do not be intimidated. The hardest parts are 1) acquiring the equipment, 2) staying consistent. Just start small, and do less than you think you "could". There's no point in working out hard one day if the next day you can barely move :)
No. You will be most limited by the size of the dumbbells you have access to. If you have recently taken a break from strength training, please be easy on yourself
Of course! Please do not expect to get magically strong within one session, but everyone is welcome to join this class.
